Would you like to see the Hyre Harmonix singers perform? Do you want to build a snowman? How about meeting fun characters like Elsa and Anna? Then attend the Akron Children's Museum's fifth annual Hands-On Holidays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Dec. 5. Children may fill up their passport as they visit and interact with multiple holiday craft stations (such as mini hotcake design, fun Home Depot kits, paint your own snowman, and much more). Adults may sign up for a holiday canvas painting experience, participate in a community service project and pick up items for the holidays in the Monster Shop. Families may receive fun items from the Akron-Summit County Public Library, free admission passes to the Akron Art Museum or tickets to the Nutcracker performance at EJ Thomas Hall. Local schools are invited to build a recycled snowman that will be showcased at the event, and winners will receive a free class trip to the children's museum. A Pajama Drive will collect new items for children ages birth to 18 for the children at Summit County Children's Services' foster and kinship programs. Tickets are $12/adult and $10/child, and members receive a $2 discount. Get yours now at Those people ages 14 to adult who are interested in volunteering may sign up at Register for the snowman building contest at For questions or more information, call 330.396.6103; or email [email protected].
