Tuneful Tuesday

On Tuneful Tuesday and Thrilling Thursday every classroom at Bridges Learning Center is visited by the music therapist, music therapy intern, and art therapist. Brain Break activities are a 5-10 minute brain booster or energizer activity. Research shows that all learners need brain breaks to improve their focus, cognition, and attention. According to Springer (n.d.), these short, engaging activities aimed at movement, laughter, and fun will help to improve performance and concentration by anchoring learning with movement (think motor memory).

Santa's workshop called Bridges Learning Center for some help! The elves wrapped all of the Christmas gifts, but they forgot to put tags on the presents! Students were divided into 2 groups with 12 presents each. Inside each present was a bell, 1 through 12 bells. Since everyone knows that you can not open your presents until Christmas Day, the students had to leave the presents wrapped and sealed. Instead, students used deductive reasoning to determine which box had 1 bell, which box had 2 bells, all the way to 12 bells. The first team to solve the puzzle were knighted as an official Elf on the Shelf! Pictured are students from Mrs. Ovall and Ms. Flinn's classroom working to help Santa solve the mystery! Great work, elves!
